Arg-e Bam

During Travel to Iran, we see The citadel of Bam or Arg-e Bam which in Iran History is the largest brick structure in the world, located near the city of Bam in the province of Kerman in southeastern of Iran. On December 5, 2003, the Bam Citadel was almost completely destroyed by the severe earthquake that affected the city of Bam and the suburbs.

“Bam and it is Cultural Space” one of the monument for visiting through Iran Tour, has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This huge citadel located on the Silk Road was built in the 5th century BC and continued to be used until 1850 AD. It is definitely not clear why it was not used anymore.

This historic monument of Iran Travel with an unparalleled appearance, as one of the historical masterpieces of the land in Iran History, has become a stronghold in the highest point of the city. The building was built on top of a gigantic rock in the south of the Bam river or behind it.

Arg – e Bam (citadel of Bam) of Iran Travel is a large collection of tall and enclosed buildings near Bam city in Kerman province in Iran Tour. This citadel has an area of nearly 180,000 square meters and is surrounded by tall walls about 6 to 7 meters high and 1815 meters long.  Iran History shows that in the architecture of this ancient city, two separate parts are considered:

* The governmental part includes a military fortress, a four-season mansion, a barracks, a 40-meter deep water well and a large stable for 200 horses in the center.

* The landlord segment includes the main entrance of the city, the main entrance to the castle and the market, about 400 homes and public buildings, such as schools and sports centers.
