A visa is required to visit Iran of all nationalities except Republic of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt, Malaysia and China. Residents of designated countries can stay for 3 months. People of other nationalities can stay in Iran for up to 30 days. However, it can also be extended by referring to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An invitation is required to begin the visa process. An authorized travel agent can produce this letter.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will review your information and documents and send you the results within 3-10 Iranian business days.
We will send you a confirmation of your visa documents. Bring your passport, two or three personal photos and visa prints to the Iranian embassy or consulate. American visa procedure. British and Canadian citizens: For these citizens, it is advisable to apply for a visa before booking your flight, as the process will be time consuming. If you book your flight in advance, we recommend that you apply for your visa early. These citizens must travel to Iran with a travel package arranged by an authorized travel agency. Tour guides must accompany these citizens from the start to the end of the tour. Please note that this is regulated by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and must be complied with by the authorities.
According to the rules of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, tourist visas are issued to foreigners, their friends and relatives who wish to travel to Iran individually or in groups for traveling to Iran. This visa is issued for up to 30 days and has the option of extension in Iran. Iranian sponsors are required to assist with visa processing. This sponsor can be an authorized travel agency. The travel agency will send you an invitation, which requires the approval of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most consulates require a letter of approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tehran. Obtaining this approval is the most important step in applying for a visa, and once obtained, there is not much left. After approval, you will be sent a visa code. Next, you need to go to the nearest Iranian embassy. You can usually get a visa 1-2 days after you receive your visa code. You can stay in Iran for 30 days. A 60-day stay requires permission from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is illegal to stay longer than the specified number of days and violate national regulations.
