The Vakil mosque one of the most valuable Iran Tourism Attractions   is located in the Zandieh complex, along with the Vakil Bathroom in downtown of Shiraz.

This building is one of the beautiful and very solid Iran monuments of the Zandieh period, which is very important in terms of artistic and architectural design.

This mosque was built under Karim Khan Zand. The mosque has two lobbies and has two south and eastern shrines. The southern shrine with monolithic stone columns and spiral is one of the architectural features of Iran history and in the spectacular areas of the city that is famous for Iran Tourism  has 48 columns of integrated stone.

The area of its nave (hall) is about 5 thousand square meters and alongside the altar there is a tribune with fourteen integrated staircase of malachite rock that is one special part of the beauty of it. This stone was brought from Maragheh to Shiraz by order of Karim Khan.

The construction date of this mosque in 1187 AH was simultaneously with the construction of the market and the field during the time of Karim Khan Zand. The entrance of the mosque is designed from the north, and the stone head is integrated.

On both sides of the entrance to the mosque the tile and Mogharnash beautiful were used and after crossing the entrance to the mosque 2 corridors are seen to the left and right which after a few meters with angles of approximately 90 degrees reach the courtyard of the mosque.

On the front entrance and the margin of the porches there are Quranic verses with beautiful handwriting called Khate Sols. These lines and copies were inscribed beautifully in white and in the field of azure.

On the northern side of the mosque, a large arch was made known as the Pearl Arch, and around of this vault with a large pen and a magnificent “Khate Sols “, (a beautiful kind of handwriting) one of the Quran’s suras (chapters of Qoran) was written in the crescent shape.

The mosque is located in a social complex based on the traditional architecture which has brought together harmony of beauty in the context of religion and the world.  This harmony attracts all attention to the Travel to Iran.

The tiled porch and porch of the north and the south are also very beautiful, with a variety of seven colors and mosaics.

The mosque’s architects have been connecting the corridors to the courtyard of the mosque in order to ensure that the qibla of the mosque conforms to the religious qibla and the mosque’s facade with the lateral doors of the bazaar and the market itself, which, at the same time, does not indicate the angle of the courtyard.

“In the travelogue to Isfahan “by Peirre loti, the Vakil mosque has been introduced as follows:

“Today, fortunately I succeeded in entering the Karim Khan mosque. If I stay here for a while, I will enter all the places where they are now completely banned from entering.

The people of this city are so gentle and kind to me. The lines and designs of the mosque’s architecture are simple and plain, but everywhere there are pink and green and red colors, and this luxury has reached its limit. No part of the wall can be found which has not been carefully plowed. Now we are in the palace of Lajevardin and “Turquoise Pham.”
